NOTICE is a new news startup with a simple mission: Explain the news to a new generation of news consumers. We’ll do that by creating content that’s both informal and accessible to our audience, with plenty of context, to help younger views understand the significance of the day’s headlines. We’ll also do that by providing teachers with standard-based resources that will help them integrate discussion of the day’s news into their classrooms.
Our first project is a weekly, five minute, news explainer video series that will break down complex issues and encourage students to think critically about our nation, and our planet’s, most pressing issues. For each episode we’ll also produce interactive content so students can dive in more to issues that interest them, as well as resources for teachers, such as discussion questions and other activities, to make it easy to incorporate NOTICE into their classrooms.
